LIFELONG AIDS ALLIANCE IS PLEASED TO CONGRATULATE PRESIDENT-ELECT BARACK OBAMA ON HIS ELECTION AS THE 44TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

Seattle, Washington – The largest AIDS Service Organization in the Pacific Northwest, Lifelong AIDS Alliance, is honored to congratulate President-Elect Barack Obama on his monumental election as the 44th President of the United States. As preparations are being made for the presidential transition, we are anxiously awaiting President-Elect Obama’s preliminary development of a National AIDS Strategy.

We are confident Obama will appoint a diverse panel of government, academic and community HIV and AIDS experts, both HIV positive and negative, for guidance while developing this important strategy. We hope as a part of this strategy, AIDS-related funding will increase and the new administration will place a great deal of effort into additional prevention funding.

On a local level, Lifelong AIDS Alliance is also pleased to congratulate Christine Gregoire on her continuance as Governor, and is eager to work with her to gain more support for our programs and services so we can continue to help those who are affected by HIV and AIDS.

We are excited about the overwhelming voter participation in this year’s election and believe it can be attributed to the general public’s desire for change and growth as a country. As an AIDS Service Organization, we are also looking for growth – not only in funding – but also in support from our community of our mission. We are committed to preventing the spread of HIV, to providing practical support services and advocating for those whose lives are affected by HIV and AIDS. In these exciting times for our community and our country, we must remember the fight is not yet over.

Lifelong AIDS Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
