Executive Director
David Richart is one of the leading authorities on the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States. As Executive Director of Lifelong AIDS Alliance, he oversees the largest AIDS Service Organization in the Pacific Northwest and the fifth largest in the country. With a budget of over $15 million, Lifelong AIDS Alliance provides a wide array of services including food and nutrition, housing, referrals to medical, dental and mental health professionals, insurance continuation and medical adherence counseling to people whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS. Prior to assuming the position of Executive Director at Lifelong, David served as Director of Education and Prevention and Director of Programs.
Beginning in 1999 and for a period of eight years, David was a member of the Seattle/King County HIV/AIDS Planning Council, which determines the allocation of financial resources to programs across Puget Sound.
David is a member of the HIV/AIDS Leadership Collaborative, a group comprised of the Executive Directors of the seven largest AIDS Service Organizations in the United States. Through his work on the Collaborative, David and his colleagues are fashioning and recommending an HIV/AIDS Strategy to the Obama administration to intensify and coordinate the fight against the epidemic on a national level.
A native of California, David earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and a Certificate in Alcoholism Studies from Seattle University. He recently represented Lifelong AIDS Alliance at the XVII National AIDS Conference in Mexico City.
