Job Description
Lifelong AIDS Alliance is a non-profit agency that is committed to preventing the spread of HIV, and to providing practical support services and advocating for those whose lives are affected by HIV and AIDS. Lifelong AIDS Alliance provides housing, food and nutrition services, insurance continuation, case management and emergency financial assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS. Wise and efficient organization and administrative systems are crucial to the provision of client services.
DEFINITION:
The Development Work-study Assistant reports to the Annual Fund Manager. This is a Part-Time Temporary Work-study position non-exempt, non-union. This position requires a commitment of 15-20 hours each week.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides administrative and clerical support to the Lifelong AIDS Alliance Development Department. This includes the scanning and distribution of all incoming checks and remits for record keeping; data cleaning projects to help eliminate and minimize duplication of records.
• Data entry of new donor pledges.
• Maintain up to date donor records and files, and perform address/name changes in database.
• File departmental donor correspondence.
• Print and file donor acknowledgements.
• Help with processing special event donations and purchases.
• Work on projects with volunteers and temporary employees.
ORGANIZATIONAL CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performing all duties of position.
• Ability to work effectively and productively with others (including supervisors, colleagues and clients).
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Working on-site
• Commitment to the HIV/AIDS issue and to the work of Lifelong AIDS Alliance.
• Knowledgeable about the progression and treatment of HIV/AIDS.
• Experience working with people of diverse socio-economic backgrounds, ethnicity’s, sexual orientation and lifestyle.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial, donor and client records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. One Year previous experience working in an office environment performing basic administrative duties such as: reception, filing, copying, scheduling and data entry.
2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including: Outlook, Excel, Access and Word.
3. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
4. Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
5. Possess excellent customer service skills and have an outgoing personality.
6. Comfortable working with people of varying socio-economic backgrounds and sexual orientations.
