Ways to get involved with Lifelong over the holidays

Lifelong AID Alliance News

We are a buzz here at Lifelong with seasonal volunteer and giving opportunities! There are plenty of ways for you to channel that festive holiday spirit into supporting your community. Here are just a few ways you can get involved with us.

  1. Volunteer with your family at a Care to Shop retailer in your neighborhood! Care to Shop volunteers stand outside grocery stores and distribute grocery lists for shoppers entering the store. All items collected go directly to our Chicken Soup Brigade food program.
  2. Donate to our thrift store or shop for unique gift items. Located in Capitol Hill, the Lifelong Thrift Store is a great destination for your holiday shopping needs. We have items you didn't even know you were looking for (seriously!)
  3. Stop by That Thursday Thing with your teenage son/daughter. Held every Thursday from 4-7 p.m., this is a great way to meet new people and help the Prevention Department create safer-sex kits.
  4. Start your own holiday food drive. Ask co-workers or guests at your holiday cocktail soiree to bring a canned good. Here is a list of items we need.
  5. Make a one-time or recurring gift online. Let us maximize your dollar by putting it where it is needed the most.

We are working extra hard this holiday season to make sure our clients have a roof over their head, food on the table, and the resources to make it through another day. We could not do what we do without you.

If you have any questions about other ways to get involved or other giving options, please contact us.
