FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Seattle, Washington – Lifelong AIDS Alliance is deeply saddened by the reported hate crime which took place  the evening of Saturday, February 21 in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.  According to police reports, a volunteer of Lifelong’s Gay Bingo fundraiser was targeted and attacked upon leaving the event.  Fortunately, we have received word the victim is recovering quickly.

Part of Lifelong AIDS Alliance’s mission is to create a community of support, inclusion, and mutual respect for all.  Following this sad incident, which police are investigating as a hate crime, we feel now more then ever that our community needs to come together against hate and violence. Our deepest sympathies go out to the victim, his family and friends, and to the community as a whole.

Lifelong AIDS Alliance is committed to preventing the spread of HIV, and to providing practical support services and advocating for those whose lives are affected by HIV and AIDS.  Lifelong is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
