Today David Richart announced his departure as Executive Director of Lifelong AIDS Alliance effective May 28, 2010.
"After ten years of service to Lifelong, I have decided to take some time for myself and explore new career opportunities," said Richart. "I will always hold my time at Lifelong as the most rewarding of my career. I’m very proud of the work we have done to increase HIV prevention and care services."
David has had a long standing career in AIDS services working with the University of Washington HIV Vaccine Trials Unit prior to starting his career with Lifelong. David assumed the role as Lifelong’s Executive Director in November 2007. He served as the Agency's interim ED in the 9 months prior to his appointment. Previous to these leadership roles David served as the Agency's Director of Programs.
During David's tenure Lifelong's annual budget has grown to over $22M, the Agency's worked to increase HIV/AIDS prevention, expanded its care services, and implemented exciting and innovative new programs. David was the catalyst in creating the relationship with MOM's pharmacy, a partnership that has created easier access to medications for hundreds of Lifelong's clients. Additionally, Richart partnered with the Board of Directors to create and adopt a strategic plan for the agency, charting its course and direction through 2014.
"David's knowledge, passion and advocacy for AIDS services are unparalleled and have been invaluable assets to Lifelong over these past 10 years" says Maurice James, President of the Board of Directors. "The staff, volunteers and Board of Directors wish him great success in his future endeavors and especially thank him for his untiring years of service to the Agency, the Board, and our local community."
