Nutrition Counseling

It’s never too late to start eating well.

Chicken Soup Brigade’s (CSB) dietitians are specially trained to help you with nutrition issues that you might be living with. Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet tailored to your needs is an essential part of building a strong immune system and increasing self-sufficiency. Lifelong’s Registered Dietitians offer their services to help create an individualized nutrition treatment plan. We offer counseling to help you manage various symptoms including:

Diarrhea

Fatigue

High Cholesterol and Triglycerides

Unwanted Weight Loss

Loss of Appetite

If you would like to improve your nutritional health, please speak with your Lifelong case manager or contact our Registered Dietitian at nutrition@llaa.org or (206) 957-1688.

Our comprehensive nutrition counseling services include one-on-one in-office or in-home nutrition counseling to help you with:

  • Weight loss/gain strategies
  • Diet analysis and recommendations for boosting immune function
  • Management of high cholesterol, triglycerides, or blood sugars
  • Management of other medication-related side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, and loss of appetite
  • Disease-specific counseling for conditions such as chronic kidney disease or diabetes
  • Food budgeting and identification of additional sources of food or income
  • Education on food safety concerns specific to people with compromised immune systems

Our dietitians collaborate with CSB’s food bank and kitchen departments to meet our nutrition standards and the special dietary and cultural needs of our clients. CSB is a community leader in dietetics education providing learning opportunities for dietetic interns and nutrition students.
