Lifelong's Director of Marketing and Development J. Cory Curtis leaves the agency
Curtis hired as Vice President at Porter Novelli
Seattle, Wash.—January 19, 2007—Lifelong AIDS Alliance, the largest HIV/AIDS organization in the Pacific Northwest, today announced that its director of marketing and development, J. Cory Curtis, will be leaving the agency. Curtis has accepted a vice president position at Porter Novelli, a leading global public relations firm. Curtis has served as a member of Lifelong’s directors team for two and a half years, overseeing the organization’s events, annual fund campaigns, marketing and communications. During his tenure, Lifelong has seen unprecedented growth in these areas, including significant rises in revenue from events like the annual AIDS Walk and the monthly Gay Bingo events.
Before working at Lifelong, Curtis began his career working in politics for the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, D.C. and ran media and legislative efforts for then Seattle City Councilmember Tina Podlodowski. After working for Waggener Edstrom helping Microsoft launch MSN and the MSN Butterfly campaign, Curtis also provided marketing and fundraising direction for the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, one of the nation’s most successful community foundations.
“We wish Cory all the best as he moves on to this exciting opportunity,” said Tina Podlodowski, Lifelong’s executive director. “Of course, we are sad to see him go, but he leaves behind a great legacy of tremendous success in our marketing and development efforts. We are grateful for his years of service to Lifelong and people living with HIV/AIDS in Seattle/King County.”
“Lifelong is an incredible organization that quite literally impacts thousands of lives right here in our community,” said Curtis. “Every day the agency continues to adapt to the ever-changing face of HIV/AIDS. The Seattle community has risen to the challenge of assuring that HIV/AIDS is not forgotten about. I look forward to remaining involved with this vital organization and will remain committed to the fight!”
Tuesday, February 6 will be Curtis’s last day at Lifelong AIDS Alliance before he begins his position at Porter Novelli.
