Lifelong AIDS Alliance to join AIDS advocates from across Washington State for AIDS Awareness & Action Day in Olympia
Who: Lifelong AIDS Alliance, the largest AIDS service organization in the Pacific Northwest, and more than 200 AIDS advocates from across Washington State
What: AIDS Awareness & Action Day, during which people living with HIV/AIDS and their allies will meet with state legislators in Olympia to discuss how state AIDS policies and funding impact the lives of real people.
The group will meet with Gov. Christine Gregoire and Sen. Ed Murray, Rep. Jeannie Darneille, Rep. Joe McDermott, and Rep. Jamie Pederson are scheduled to speak at the event.
Other partner organizations participating in the event include People of Color Against AIDS Network, Spokane AIDS Network, United Communities AIDS Network, Blue Mountain Heart to Heart, Pierce County AIDS Foundation, Care Bearers, Evergreen AIDS Foundation, Kitsap County HIV/AIDS Foundation, Gay City Health Project, BABES Network – YWCA, Bailey-Boushay House, Rosehedge/DeWolfe AIDS Housing and Health Care and Multifaith Works. The event is made possible with assistance from Pride Foundation.
