Lifelong’s STEP program assists individuals with taking HIV medications on time, every time.
Your life and well-being depends upon taking HIV medications as prescribed. If you miss your medications even 5% of the time, you risk developing resistance. This can make your medications useless against the HIV virus!
If you’re taking pills twice a day, you can only miss one dose in a two-week period. Missing any more than that can create resistance. Of course, it’s best if you miss no doses at all.
We can help. Our treatment adherence coordinator meets with individuals one-on-one to help you learn how to take medications on time. We ask about your daily schedule and when you miss doses. We then strategize with you on how to remember to take your pills every time, as prescribed by your doctor. It’s all part of our promise to be with you, every step of the way, as you fight this disease.

Community Forums
Through STEP, we also host community information forums where current topics about HIV treatment are discussed. Everyone is welcome to these lunch and dinner talks, as they’re a great place to learn more about managing HIV.
