One of the most familiar, dedicated, and frequent faces at Lifelong isn’t that of a staff member, it’s volunteer Tom Gibbon. “I walk through Lifelong’s door to honor my friends who have died, as well as those who continue to live bravely with AIDS,” said Gibbon.
Nearly every day, Gibbon is at Lifelong doing what he loves—giving back. And when he does, he goes the extra mile. Throughout the week he’s packing groceries in the Chicken Soup Brigade warehouse, at the front desk answering telephones, greeting visitors, and making Lifelong a true family.
“The moment I arrive at Lifelong any angst that I may be feeling from the day melts away. The clients and staff at Lifelong have taught me about community. It is a place of learning and love,” he says, a smile breaking across his face.
